Healthy Eating

It's important that we each establish and maintain good eating habits so we can function better at school, work, or play. Even just moderate undernutrition can have lasting effects on a child's development, performance at school, and his or her relationships. And, believe it or not, poor nutrition and a lack of physical activity is the number two cause of death in the United States.  So, start each day right by...

  • eating a healthy breakfast
  • choosing your foods from different food groups
  • eating a well-balanced diet
  • getting enough calcium (milk, yogurt, spinach, broccoli, etc.)

Whether you bring a lunch or buy it at school, be sure that you're making smart food choices-you'll think more clearly, feel more energetic, and stay healthy and fit.

Food Service

Nutrition Matters

The Coolidge Unified School Cafeteria takes pride in delivering high quality, nutritious meals to our students. We recognize that the eating habits formed in our youth are those habits that will stay with us for a lifetime. So, we stress the importance of nutritious meals and we encourage good eating habits by developing all aspects of our food services to be fun and exciting as well as healthy and convenient.

Healthy nutrition impacts classroom performance, so our menus and food preparation is designed to assist student learning. We also encourage parents to help their children to eat healthy, nutritious foods both at school and at home.
