Public Participation

  • Governing Board Meetings will be open for the public to attend and all "Requests to Address the Board" will only be accepted for participation in person at the meeting.

The CUSD Governing Board establishes the following procedures to receive input from members of the public:

    • Any individual desiring to address the Board shall complete a "Request to Address the Board" form and have it given to the Board Secretary prior to the start time of the meeting.

      • *All meeting agendas are announced 24 hours in advance to the public to review for start time.

    • The Board President will recognize speakers, maintain proper order, and adhere to the three (3) minute time limit set. Questions requiring investigation shall be referred to the Superintendent for a later report to the Board.

    • Questions or comments on matters that are currently under legal review will not receive a response.

Personal attacks upon Board Members, staff personnel, or other persons in attendance or absent by individuals who address the Board are discouraged.  Policies KE, KEB, KEC, and KED are provided by the Board for the disposition of legitimate complaints, including those involving individuals.  Upon conclusion of the open call to the public, individual members of the Board may respond to any criticism made by an individual who has addressed the Board.
