Welcome to the Human Resources Department

  • Coolidge Unified School District consists of Coolidge High School, Coolidge Junior High School, Coolidge Alternative Program, Coolidge Virtual Academy, Heartland Ranch Elementary, West Elementary School, and Mini Bears Preschool. There are approximately 2,000 plus students enrolled in our District.

    Our full academic program of regular and special education in grades Pre-K through 12th grade is augmented by programs in Career and Technical Education. The District has implemented 1:1 instruction through the use of Apple iPads in grades K-12 and follows Vail's Beyond Textbook curricular framework. The community is supportive of the District's interscholastic programs and intramural activities.

Mr. Ben Armstrong

Ben Armstrong is a long-time Coolidge native and CHS Alumni. Ben grew up in Coolidge and remained in the area until he was 25 and made a switch to live in the San Tan Valley area for three years. Ben left San Tan Valley in 2009 and moved back to his hometown of Coolidge where he now resides with his wife and two children who attend Coolidge Schools.

For the upcoming school year, Ben is making a transition into the District Department Office where he will take on the role of the Human Resources Director. Ben has held various positions within CUSD that have helped pave the way for his career in the District Department. His prior positions ranged in many of the school sites within CUSD: Principal at Coolidge Junior/Senior High School and West Elementary; Teacher on Special Assignment at Heartland Ranch Elementary; and, multiple teaching positions at CUSD Intermediate, McCray, and Heartland Ranch. During his career, he also held a position in the Florence School District.

Ben currently has his bachelor's and master's degree with backgrounds in education. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree from the University of Phoenix and is working on completing the program.
