AP & Honors

  • Advanced Placement

Coolidge High School offers Advanced Placement classes in various academic areas including English, Literature/Comp., Language Arts/Comp., US History, and World History/Geography. The Advanced Placement (AP) is a cooperative program between secondary schools and colleges/universities. Students take classes using college-level materials and have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned, possibly earning college credit or advanced placement if they meet the exam standards by the specific university.

AP classes allow motivated and prepared students the opportunity to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. Students who take AP end-of-course exams and earn a minimum score of 3 on a scale of 1-5 may earn college credit, advanced placement, or both at most colleges and universities.
